Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an EcomRank account or installing the EcomRank Shopify app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, don't install / sign up.

2. The service

EcomRank generates SEO + GEO blog articles for online merchants, based on the merchant's product catalogue, and publishes them to the merchant's blog: via the Shopify Admin API for Shopify stores, or via the EcomRank Publisher plugin for WordPress and WooCommerce stores.

The Shopify app itself is free to install. Use of the service (article generation, publishing, keyword research) requires an active subscription on ecomrank.io.

3. Your responsibilities

• You represent that you are the owner or authorized operator of the Shopify store you install EcomRank on.
• You are the publisher of every article that goes live on your domain. You are responsible for reviewing generated articles before and after publication, and for their accuracy, their claims and their compliance with the law where you sell. Generative AI can produce errors.
• You will comply with the terms of the platform you publish on (Shopify, WordPress) and any applicable e-commerce, advertising and product regulations in your jurisdiction.
• You represent that the products in your catalogue are legal to sell and to advertise in the markets you target, and that you hold any licence, age restriction or shipping restriction those products require.
• You will not use EcomRank to publish illegal, defamatory, misleading, or rights-infringing content.

4. Regulated categories and health claims

Some product categories carry rules on what may be said about them. Food supplements, hemp and cannabinoid products, nicotine products, cosmetics with active ingredients and health devices are governed in the United States by the FDA and the FTC, and by equivalent regulators elsewhere. In those categories, a sentence linking a product to a medical condition can constitute an unapproved health claim.

EcomRank detects these categories automatically and applies safeguards: keywords that require a health claim are excluded from selection, the writing brief prohibits therapeutic, clinical and medication-related statements, and every draft is scanned before publication. An article that still carries a prohibited claim is failed and never published.

These safeguards reduce the risk. They do not eliminate it, and they are not legal advice. You remain responsible for what is published on your domain. If you sell in a regulated category, review each article before it goes live and have your own counsel validate your claims. EcomRank does not warrant that generated content complies with the regulations applicable to your products or your markets.

You will not use EcomRank to publish content about products that are illegal to sell or advertise in your target markets, nor content aimed at minors in an age-restricted category. We may suspend generation on a site where we identify such use.

5. Content ownership

Articles generated by EcomRank and published to your Shopify blog are your property. You can edit, delete, repurpose them however you want, including after canceling your EcomRank subscription.

You grant EcomRank a limited, non-exclusive license to read your product catalogue and existing blog posts solely for the purpose of generating and publishing articles. We don't claim ownership over any of your shop data.

6. Subscription + billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly via Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record (handles taxes and invoicing). Pricing is displayed at checkout and can change with 30 days' notice for existing subscribers.

New subscribers get a 7-day free trial; a payment method is required up front and the first charge happens on day 8 unless you cancel before then.

You can cancel anytime from the Lemon Squeezy customer portal (linked from the Billing page). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We don't pro-rate refunds, but EcomRank generation remains active until the period ends.

7. Service availability + limitations

We aim for 99.5% uptime but don't guarantee it. Article generation depends on third-party LLM providers (Anthropic, Google), keyword data providers (DataForSEO), and Shopify's Admin API. Outages or rate limits at any of these can delay publishing.

Article quality depends on input data and LLM behavior. We don't guarantee specific SEO rankings, traffic, or conversion outcomes. SEO is a multi-month effort and depends on many factors outside any tool's control.

8. Termination

You can uninstall the Shopify app and / or delete your EcomRank account anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or generate harmful content. In such cases we'll notify you in writing first when possible.

On termination, your shop-level data is deleted per the schedule in our Privacy Policy.

9. Liability

EcomRank is provided "as is". We are a content generation tool, not a legal, medical or regulatory adviser, and nothing we produce is legal or medical advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including regulatory action or third-party claims arising from content you chose to publish. Our total liability for any direct damages is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Paris, France, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction require otherwise.

11. Changes to these Terms

We'll post material updates here with a new "last updated" date. Substantive changes (pricing, scope, refund policy) will also be emailed to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect.
